He also fit Manny Ramirez into that story. I missed the first few innings (where the best stories come), so I didn't hear it, but people were going nuts last night on twitter.

I also heard that when his daughters were little, he'd do play-by-play as they jumped off the diving board into their backyard pool. "Here she comes up to the board... a can opener!"

Also, I was listening to Charlie Steiner try his best to tell a Scully-esque story over the radio broadcast on Wednesday... Something about the PA speaker in Ebbett's Field. Long build up, but the story ended with "...and player X is being held out of the lineup because he don't feel too good." Then Brandon Crawford struck out again and Steiner was like "Now Crawford heads to the dugout and he don't feel too good either."

B+ for effort, D- in comparison to how flawlessly Vin does it.

Fuck. Looks like Lackey is headed back to the DL. Just hurt himself on a pitch in the 5th. Immediately grabbed is right bicep after the pitch. 5 hits, 2 ER and 8 K's through 4.1 before he came out.

                        Shelby's season debut - 5.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 4 K

Meh @ the walks, but he was working with a tight strike zone all day. Nice to finally solve Giant pitching again.

I tried like the dickens to draft him on my fantasy team. Held what I thought enough money for him and was outbid by a dollar due to being limited by the max bid limit.

                          related to that... Julio sucked

but there are so many good pitching match ups on Sunday:

                            CC vs. Verlander
                            Cueto vs. Strasburg
                            Waino/Caino
                            Yu vs. Weaver
                            Shields vs. Hamels
                            Lester vs. Dickey

                            ...and #others

Also, we will see 20-year old Jose Fernandez make his major league debut for the Marlins in New York. Kinda cool.

Was going to go but some other stuff hit the fan... Plus a 3.5 trip both ways kinda makes the decision for me. If only I still lived around Lexington, it would be about an hour up and back home.
