But yeah no reason for the OP to be optimistic, you guys.
A fan of literally any other team creates the same exact thread, you are groaning the post and mocking the dude in the chatbox for life. The statement in the OP would instantly become meme, posted each time the team loses, right after the from chrispy.

If you are not a Braves fan, you just wouldn't understand.

We seem to always have a good team, we just never go anywhere with it. We are always a let down late in the season. Just like every sport in Atlanta. But we still love Atlanta and we are always optimistic even when we shouldn't be.

Tell me about it, bro. 15 straight division titles, playoffs 16 out of the last 22 seasons, a World Series title...the level of intense loyalty required for Atlanteans to stick by this team goes without saying. Must be hard, rooting for such a long suffering franchise. How do you manage to not lose interest?

Really? Out of all of that, we have 2 WS titles in 63 years. None in NFL, and I don't even know the last time we won anything in bball. Did I once say I was never excited?

I'm willing to bet you're under 30, which means you likely have no recollection of a single bad Braves team. So spare me the "look at my loyalty" routine until they lose for 20 years and you're still glued to the TV for 150+. You may very well be an awesome fan, but it hasn't exactly been a chore to follow the Braves during your life.

You are right. I am 27. I have not watched the Braves truly suck. But I have watched the Falcons suck. And I have watched the Bulldogs suck. And in everything but football and womens bball, UGA still sucks. But either way, I'll still be an Atlanta/GA fan. In everything but GA Tech. I hate those smart fuckers.

So you feel you need to be extra confident and moderately skeptical of the Braves' success based on the disappointing performances by an unaffiliated University in completely different sports? Makes sense

I feel like I have an opinion and I expressed my opinion. If you don't like it, I was merely saying, the Braves will still be my favorite team even if they only won 10 games all season. And I would still watch as many games as I could. It has nothing to do with football.

Yet, we still did better than Washington that season. Wasn't terrible.

The "Atlanta Braves" have 1 WS title, Milwaukee Braves 1, and Boston Braves 1.
