He might just be a slow starter, we have never seen him play in April before. He hit the ground running as a rookie but he had a month of facing minors pitching to help him get up to speed. Too early to tell at this point.

It is not too early to call the Angels as a whole a disappointment though. Albert runs like an old man now, Hamilton still refuses to take a pitch and the pitching which was already thin is now looking like a potential trainwreck.

Both AJ Ellis and Carl Crawford's home runs at Petco Park last night were hit over fences which were not brought in this winter. Crawford's was also to opposite-field. Also, Matt Kemp finally had his first multi-hit game and bizarro Ethier is still hitting well against lefties but horrible against righties.

You couldn't pay me to go a baseball game in this current Chicago weather.

30 degrees, consistent rain. I'M GOOD!

I like how the VSN experts are once again surprised that the Angels suck. Do you guys not learn from your mistakes or what?

FWIW I was way out in front of the Angels being godawful this year.

Pujols is off to a great start I'm not really concerned with how my 1B is running if he's hitting the ball well.

The pitching staff is the reason the Angels have only won twice this year. Joe Blanton doesn't belong anywhere near a major league rotation at this point and I have no words for the collection of bums in the pen.

The point is that he's aging rapidly.

That's fine but I don't see what it has to do with the Angels current slump...

There are plenty of people to blame besides the guy with the >1.100 OPS at this point.

                      Well, maybe in Houston.

I am saying it doesn't bode well for the future. Not a very good team currently and one of their key components is walking around like an old man and liable to fall of a cliff.

Nothing bodes well for the future..

Not the young star getting fat and not caring about his new position, not bums from 2-5 in the rotation, not the only viable starter going down in his second game, not the bums inhabiting the bullpen, not the big name offseason addition hitting below the Mendoza line and striking out in every game (only once if we're lucky), not the empty farm system, not the insanely tough division we're in where every team besides Seattle looks ready to be a contender....

                          ...everything sucks.

Jeez, Axelrod's arm is gonna fall off before the third inning.
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"
