Yes, I can see how Quentin was enraged by someone he clearly doesn't like and lost control of himself.

I was talking about this with someone in class today and a girl jumped into the conversation by saying, "oh no Greinke got hurt? What team was Milwaukee playing?"

So you call me KING HOMER, and then in order to try to dig up some kind of dirt you bring up threads I started FOUR years ago? You can't possibly be this stupid in real life. How can you even function on a daily basis?

It was really homer of me to think Woodson was the defensive player of the year also. It's not like he WON THE AWARD or anything!

You make it sound as if Quentin had no other choice in the matter, like "What else could he have done?" Amazing.
Not at all what I said. I agree Quentin should have jogged to first.

But if I punched you, would you just walk away? If I punched you a second time, do you walk away?

Simple solution is for MLB to start suspending pitchers who clearly do this on purpose. That throw was clearly on purpose. But instead, MLB only gives suspensions if there's a fight, or the pitcher admits to it after the game to the media. And even then, all the suspension does is push back his start a day or two.

If you want this to stop, start handing out real suspensions. Starting pitchers who intentionally throw at a player, even in retaliation, are suspended 15 games (3 starts). Relief pitchers are suspended 5. Fines all around, of course.

But baseball won't do that and this is the result. You throw at a guy once, fine. You do it continually and smirk when you do it, you should probably expect to get the mound stormed.
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

Four years ago a guy I work with accidentally bumped into me when we passed each other in the hallway. It was all I could do to not beat the shit out of him right there. But if he ever accidentally bumps into me again I am going to curbstomp him until I can see his brain.

Considering your opinion on Quentin's behavior, I assume you have no problem with that right?

Depends. How big are you? If you look like MVPete or Rosettastoned, I run away. Otherwise, I'd probably just walk away.

Good grief. First, Grienke was to blame because of his smirking. Now, MLB is to blame because the suspensions are too weak.

Because I thought he did it on purpose? That's some piss poor logic. He's done it before. And it's pretty obvious from his body language that he did it on purpose. Not the first time. His body language is of one who is anticipating and preparing for a fight. Why? Because he instigated it. As soon as he comes off the mound, his arms are down in an intimidating stance, his palms open towards the hitter, but down. It's what's known as an aggressive anticipation stance in psychology.

Grienke did neither. He taunted Quentin, who is easily 40lbs heavier.

Ultimately, baseball is to blame because this has been going on for a long time now and they really don't do anything to stop it, nor contain it. Imagine if during every hockey fight, both benches cleared. Instead, fighting is allowed under controlled circumstances, with the referees controlling it and issues penalties afterwards. Umpires are ejecting fewer pitchers, giving out fewer warnings, and ultimately, doing less to control this type action.

Baseball has never done anything to address the issue, even after the Nolan Ryan and Robin Ventura went at it, nor after Pedro Martinez threw Don Zimmer to the ground. So is it any surprise that this happens? Let's be honest, if Grienke doesn't break his collar bone, we're hardly talking about this. It's simply another brawl, ho hum, season goes on. Personally, I'm surprised this hasn't happened before.

BTW - Quentin didn't even throw a punch. Was probably the most half-hearted attempt attempt at a tackle/spear I've ever seen. Grienke is a pussy with a little bitch body. Probably just forgot his anti-anxiety medication. Shit like this is why baseball gets made fun of.
