Quentin was already going toward the mound when Grienke said something. If Quentin had just headed to first base, I doubt Grienke would have said something. I put the onus on Quentin.

I much prefer the Bert Campaneris method of just hurling your bat at the pitcher after being plunked. Its kind of a "one and done" thing...if the pitcher can avoid the flying bat, he's in the clear. If not, then he gets hit by the bat. No need for bench clearing.
