PER is a basketball stat. That's how out of touch this argument is.

ERA doesn't account for errors but it certainly allows poor defensive range to affect it. When the guys behind you can't get to balls they become hits. Give up enough hits and you'll see your ERA go up. To say teammates don't factor into ERA is kind of shortsighted.

Not an error, pitchers fault, right?

Of course it is. Pitchers should be striking out every batter.

No. Historic stats? No. When the Dodgers announced that signing, my reaction was the same as the Boston Red Sox trade ... are you kidding? The guy has never won more than 16 games in a season and has admitted he has a personality disorder. I am not bashing him for that, but I am also not handing him a $147-million contract.
Greinke has a Cy Young, and it was one of the best individual pitching seasons in recent memory.

I want to pile on with the Betancourt hate, too.

This one ended Endy Chavez's season a couple years back.

Yuni was traded a few weeks later.

God you are dumb. So because Betancourt made one good play, it cancels out all the bad plays?

Dude. Where did I say Betancourt was good? He's the worst defensive SS in the MLB.

I just find it funny that you get all pissed off when I show one good play he made, yet you used one "bad" play to try and prove your point. We all know he's a terrible defender, and we all know you are always on Greinke's dick.

Again, at the end of the day, get back to me when Greinke's contract is up and ask if he was worth the money. IMO, the Dodgers did this for the same reason they took on those insane Red Sox contracts, just to seem relevant vs. the Angels.

The Boston Red Sox proved in recent years, spending just for the sake of spending is stupid.
