    Let's talk about Tony Cingrani

    5IP 1ER 5H 3BB 8K and a win

First inning he threw 19 fastballs and one change up. He was really struggling to locate his off-speed pitches early, but once he settled down and the Reds got him a little lead he seemed to pitch a lot better. That breaking ball looked very nice in the last few innings.

That little 78 mph hook looked real good in the later innings. He calls it a slider, but it looks like a curve to me. Looks like a much better pitch than the change based on the SSS of this game and the relief appearances last year.

Fernandez is a god damn beast, living 97, 98 mph, then coming back with that 80 mph thing to keep guys off balance.

Adam Wainwright now runs his walkless streak to 29 innings after going seven against the Phils last night.

Also, more Waino goodies courtesy of Derrick Goold.

Adam Wainwright struck out four batters without walking anyone in his win against the Phillies, giving him totals of 28 strikeouts and still no walks in his four starts this season. No other major-league pitcher in the modern era (i.e., 1900 to date) struck out 25 or more batters without issuing a walk in his first four starts of a season.

Harvey is everything the Nationals were hoping Strasburg would be.
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

Way to go, Rizzo, taking Storen over Trout ...

Papi with two hits in his season debut and Nava with the 2-run jack in the 8th to put the Sox ahead. Not too shabby. Although Bailey tried his damndest to give everyone a heart attack.
