Get this shit head gang banger off the team ASAP please. Zero tolerance for this type of stuff.

Fucking ridiculous that this piece of shit will face no jail time, no suspension, and less then $1,000 in fines. Get your shit together MLB/Wisconsin.

Are the Brewers trying to catch up with the Cardinals in terms of turning their backs on players drinking and driving?

Should give you double whatever the PED suspensions are.

I really don't think there is any argument for PED use being a worse offense then drinking and driving. Ridiculous that MLB does not suspend players/coaches for it.

Also the Brewers are not allowed to suspend Gallardo for his actions either.

Way too low if Johnathan Singleton is getting 50 for puffing a joint.

Unless this is his 3rd + offense, why should he face jail time?

Not sure what the laws are over there but nobody faces jail time for a DUI in CA unless you've gotten 3 or more.

And how do you know he won't face more than $1,000 in fines? Not that it matters, even if it's $5k I'm sure he's not sweating it.

Either way, I do think the MLB should suspend players for DUI. But as a citizen, he should face the name penalties every other citizen does. He shouldn't face stiffer criminal penalties just because he is a professional athlete.

Wisconsin probably has the most lenient drunk driving laws in the country. First offense is a $150-300 fine here, no jail time. He could have easily killed someone, ridiculous that all he will get is a slap on the wrist.

Mine was $2,500+ when you accounted for the fines and classes.

It could have been a lot more too if they would have towed my car or I decided to hire a lawyer.

Also you get put on summary probation for 10 years here now where anything over .00 will trigger a second offense and those are exponentially more expensive.

It also depends on where you get your DUI out here. I got mine in Orange County which is probably the worst place to get your DUI.

DWI laws everywhere should require car forfeiture for 1st time offenders.

Only if there are reasonable mass transit options. Otheriwse people can't work and pay their fines.

The clients who come to our clinic for dui classes pay anywhere from 400-1200 dollars. That doesn't count court fees and fines and legal fees

McLaughlin said Gallardo -- who has no prior criminal record -- will not face jail time but will receive citations of $300 for operating while intoxicated -- first offense, with an extra $300 because of the level of intoxication and $178.80 for lane deviation.

So about 800 dollars. His license is also suspended for 6-9 months, and has to pass the course.

What Gallardo did was plain stupid. When you make millions, you can't call a cab that costs 50-60 dollars? MLB also offers free cab rides I believe (read that somewhere)

No excuse for his actions, hopefully he learns from this and doesn't do it again.

I assume you have the same thoughts on people caught texting and driving because statistics are starting to indicate that texting and driving is 6 times more dangerous than driving while intoxicated.

I think it's completely hypocritical for so many people to crucify others for driving drunk but don't have as strong feelings for those who text and drive. The punishment for texting and driving is a small ticket compared to the punishment for drunk driving.

And then I see idiots everywhere bitching and moaning about a $20 ticket for texting and driving (first offense, every offense after is $50) in California when the penalty for DUI costs at least $2k and possibly up to $5k with lawyer fees.

                              It's quite a joke really.
