    Best active 3B?

Lets discuss which active third baseman has had the best career. Two guys stand out to me, Aramis Ramirez and Adrian Beltre. Lets look at the numbers.

    Aramis Ramirez: 7613 PA, 343 HR, 1230 RBI, .286/.344/.503
    Adrian Beltre: 8834 PA, 352 HR, 1232 RBI, .279/.330/.475

Adrian has a slight lead in HRs and RBIs, but that's because he has 1200 more plate appearances. Taking that into consideration, I think you have to go Aramis, no? He is a ribeye machine afterall! It's very close though, nothing really sets these two apart from each other. They're almost identical in all facets of the game.

Its a shame that Zimmerman seems to be having major issues that could force him to move because he would have probably been my guy.

Beltre's defense makes him much more valuable than Aramis IMO.

He's not even Captain NL East, much less Captain America.

David Wright HAS to be in the conversation. He puts up the overall numbers every year, averaging 26HR/105RBI/22SB along with a .301 average. He's on pace to crush both Beltre and Ramirez's career WaR as well.

EDIT: And he currently costs 5M less per year than Beltre.

Wright may very well be the guy by the time he's in the waning years....but they're talking best career numbers and as of now, Beltre & Ramirez are the top 2 in that talk.

David Wright doesn't even have 1000 career RBIs, doesn't belong in the same conversation as the two players in OP.

Ramirez's numbers are inflated due to never leaving the NL Central.
