    Andre Ethier's Expulsion Tracker

Yes, his contract sucks. Yes, the wealthy Dodgers will be eating salary to move him. Ethier is a big baby with a horrible platoon split, iffy defense, and non-existent base running skill (though he's not necessarily slow, per se). The Dodgers have basically zero leverage so whatever trade it is that happens, it will probably not be any kind of blockbuster.

Now that we have that out of the way, which desperate team will it be to have Ethier moseying around in their outfield, 1B (not that he's played there), and/or platoon DH? The Dodgers have been shopping Ethier since at least Winter '13.

So far, the teams linked to possible interest have include the Mariners, Mets, and Rangers with the latter two being more like writer speculation. Seattle has a really tough time luring FAs so they seem like the best fit for any possible trade.

Mets better be pure speculation and nothing based in fact.

Sandy Alderson is desperate to acquire a worthwhile OF, but the only way Ethier makes a bit of sense is if LA pays off the majority of the deal and is okay with getting a borderline top 10 team prospect back.

Otherwise, as a rebuilding team, why welcome a guy CLEARLY on the decline if it means you have to give up anything more than a Wilmer Flores type guy.

Orioles were thrown around by some, but with McLouth, Jones and Markakis, not to mention Dickerson playing with a hot bat, the Orioles don't really have a need at this point. A lot of salary would need to be taken by the Dodgers though.

The Mets are probably the most likely though, as their outfield is pretty bad. Though all bets are off once the Dodgers eat some salary.
