The problem is I don't think Puig was "beaned", he was hit by an inside pitch. So what. As you said, it SHOULD have been the end of it. Thus I feel no sympathy for Greinke escalating the situation.

I'm agreeing with you. I don't think Greinke should've thrown at Montero and I wished this lesson would've been learned in San Diego. If Montero rushed him, he would've been crushed (again). However, that wasn't when the brawl started. Kennedy had to go extra-douche and one-up Greinke by throwing at his head. What does he expect to happen there?

Also after the game, Mattingly said he expected that Greinke might get thrown at but trotted him out there to hit while not bringing him in to pitch the next inning. If I were Mattingly's boss I would fine him or suspend him for that. Think about it, you're expecting one of your starters to get hit with a baseball and potentially start another brawl that could result in more injuries to an already bare-bones club. What the fuck, man?

If Mattingly brought in a pinch hitter, does Kennedy still throw at him? Idiocy all around.

I imagine Kennedy gets the longest (at least one start, but I wouldn't be shocked if he got enough to miss two). I also expect the Dodgers to lose at least Mattingly, Puig, Howell, and Belisario for tonight's game. Hopefully nothing worse than that.

Anyway, weird series out west, felt like the Braves played well enough to win all three games and got swept. At least it's the last trip out west all year. 11 game homestand coming up, 16 of the next 24 games vs. sub-.500 teams.

Would have sworn they would have crossed paths before (tho Zito was only in Oakland 2 more years by the time Liriano was called up), but nope.
