Mouth breathing fans would see the ERA and W/L record, and reject him as a loser. Also remember that Marcum played his entire career up to this point in Toronto and Milwaukee, the Guido's of the world probably have never heard of him before.
You believe the old vets had anything to do with the discussion about Stanton?

      Dodgers will try to add:

*Starting Pitcher - soon-to-be FA, back of the rotation guy. Ricky Nolasco, Sean Marcum, etc
*Relief Pitcher - because they do every year. Jesse Crain, or god knows who...
*Third Baseman - needed one since Beltre left. Chase Headley, Mark Reynolds, Aramis Ramirez, etc

Dodgers will likely use as trading chips:
      *Joc Pederson
      *Andre Ethier + cash
      *Stephen Fife
      *Scott Van Slyke
      *Dee Gordon
*Any of several other minor league pitchers

Scott Feldman is way more appealing than Sean Marcum.

I don't know. Keep playing Marcum against the White Sox and he'll net you a Top 100 prospect soon enough.

I mean, every fan on earth knows what Matt Garza is by now. I would think people in baseball wouldn't need to scout stat lines to know what you are getting into. Why his value would change based on good or bad SSS is something I don't understand.

Yeah, Dave Cameron has been insisting for weeks on FanGraphs chats that the Braves acquire Garza as a "top of the rotation" addition. Forgetting that the Braves already have 5 equal or better starters, and are about to add a 6th after the break, how the fuck is Garza a top of the rotation guy? 103 ERA+ for his career.

It has more to do with how he's looking healthy than anything. You know what you're getting with Garza, but if he's looking healthy there's plenty of teams that could use him. Jim Bowden was a GM and he's a fucking god damn idiot.

Please God let Gallardo pitch great in his next start so we can trade him to Arizona for Skaggs.

The entire Milwaukee Brewers organization should be traded.

Reds trade Armando Gallaraga to Rockies for minor league bullpen arm Parker Frazier.

Rockies have tried Jon Garland, Jeff Francis, & Roy Oswalt, and are headed back into the DeLorean to grab another starter from 2007.

This worries me a little from a Reds perspective, because Gallaraga was the next man up. If another starter goes down, Reds are looking at somebody like Daniel Corcino, who has been terrible in AAA, or Pedro Villareal, who was terrible in his only MLB start. Gallaraga was doing well in AAA.

Daniel Cabrera is probably looking for work since they are going back that far.

Reds are sellers? This deal is going to haunt them for years.
