Apparently this stint could be significant and longer then 15 days. Cardinals tried trading for a catcher today.

Cards will be fine. Diamond Backs just traded Ian Kennedy and the Nationals are a fucking basket of fail. They can rest him and still clinch a wild card. Especially when they get out of this funk and start hitting again.
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

Yeah Ian Kennedy was the best thing Arizona had going for them this year. They're done now.

I think he's saying that since STL is like 9 or 10 up on the D'backs, the WC is a virtual lock as a fall back if they don't win the division.

Already affected the team tonight. I've never seen the Cardinals pitchers shake off a catcher so many times in my life. There was no flow out there whatsoever.

This. The DBacks aren't going to magically come back from that far back. The Cardinals can coast the rest of the way and get one of the WCs. It's not ideal, obviously, but if it's a choice between having a healthy Yadier for the playoffs or risking a more serious injury later in the season, I think they'd be wise get him as healthy as they can right now. That lineup is talented enough to keep the Dbacks at bay for a month.
