You've never been in a court room or any kind of arbitration before.

If you cut a deal and take the plea, you get a reduced sentence.

Try and fight it, if you're busted, you don't get the leniency.

      What?

Lets re-read my very first line:
My argument is that neither deserve more than the standard suspension for the infraction

They should both be treated equally. My only qualification is that this is actually Braun's second infraction, even though he wiggled out of his first suspension.

Somehow allowing Braun to cut his suspension time by 35 games, while you increase Arod's suspension by 160 is suspect to say the least.

If you want to treat him like a 2nd time offender (which he is) suspend him for the 100. Lets not act like Braun just lied like everyone else either; he failed a test and concocted a story about tampering with evidence that took national headlines.

This is ARODs first offense since the testing policy was implemented. That's a 50 game suspension.
I don't think we have enough info to compare the two. Obviously it isn't a cut-and-dry failed test or it'd be the 50-game suspension. Braun dealed for a reason, if we get the facts on A-Rod I'm not going to be surprised to find out that he obstructed the investigation, attempted to bribe, etc. Things beyond simply failing a test which would warrant this unprecedented suspension.
