What a night in Houston, in what may end up being a very historical game as it was Billy Hamilton's first start. Billy Hamilton, if nothing else, is the most exciting player i've ever seen live. You hear the stories of how fast he is, and then you see him run in person, and you still aren't prepared for it.
4-5, 2 BB, 2 R, RBI, 2B.
Oh, and 4-4 on stolen bases, two of which came on pitch outs.
Scary observations watching him live. On a couple of those steals, he didn't get good jumps at all, including one of the pitch out steals.
But maybe the most impressive thing I saw him do was something you would never know watching TV. On second, two outs. Choo grounds out to Altuve at 2B, and Hamliton crossed the plate before the out was recorded. It doesn't sound like much, and yes he was running on contact, but he crossed the plate and was already into a trot and looking back towards first when the ball hit the glove. It was pretty amazing to see. At some point he's going to score from second on a slow ground out.
The closest thing i've seen to Hamilton live is Jose Reyes.Comment

The only thing more embarrassing than the Dodgers behavior tonight, is the hipster baseball media types defending it.Comment
