Congrats Sawx fans. Lackey didn't have anything tonight, but that black hole at the bottom of the line-up made it hard to get runs.

I was very impressed with the Red Sox ability to get on base almost every fucking inning. They brought the bats this playoffs.

I hope this proves once and for all that Bobby Valentine is the worst manager in the history of baseball.

I was shocked to find out last night that the Red Sox had not won a World Series since 1918

That hadn't won the clinching game at home since 1918.

They've won 3 titles in the last 10 years lol.

Clearly this cements Ben Cherington's place in the pantheon of Worst GMs Ever.

Red Sox were the laughing stock of the offseason by the "smart" baseball crowd, snarky jokes abound. Myself included. Goes to show there is more than one way to skin a cat, this was not a fluke postseason run, this was a great team all year long.

Anyway, I came in here to post this. New York times murders Erin Andrews, who was apparently very awful in her role and is getting hammered by others including St Louis Post Dispatch, Chris Mad Dog Russo, and now the Times, which is usually afraid of its own shadow when it comes to saying a bad word about women in sports:

I know, I was being facetious about the way Fox was acting like the Red Sox had not won a series at all since 1918. The trophies and rings look the same if you win them on the road or at home.

Another great season by the Cardinals. Their bats went cold at the wrong time and they couldn't get the big hit when they needed to. The Red Sox were the opposite. Despite a low series batting average (minus Ortiz), the Sox got the big hits with runners on base. As simple as it is, that was the difference in the series. It was kind of ironic since the Cardinals were the best hitting team in modern baseball history with runners on base during the regular season. Congrats Red Sox.
