The first obvious sub plot here (aside from Chapman) is Homer Bailey, who has refused to talk extension. Bailey is very tight with Price (and from all accounts not close to anybody else on the team) and credits him for saving/turning around his career.

Price is also known as a tough disciplinarian, which is also the polar opposite of Dusty. So despite this being a guy from Dusty's staff, it's a culture change.

It should be noted that Dusty didn't hire Price. Jocketty did. Jocketty fired Dick Pole against the wishes of Dusty four years ago.

Probably the best move they could of made. I really thought the Reds underachieved this year, and that's without looking at projected w/l stuff they do before the year and throughout it. I really hope Price isn't afraid to do some outside of the box stuff but keep the players comfortable in their roles.

Hopefully Price has the balls to tell BP to stop being a lazy piece of shit the first time he jogs to first base on a groundout.

Oh wait BP is playing in Atlanta next year.
