Bartolo Colon to Mets- two years, $20 million

The Mets and right-hander Bartolo Colon have agreed to a two-year contract worth $20 million, reports Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports. More to come.

The money must not have been there from a contender, or the Mets are counting on covering some of Colon's salary in a deadline move (or next off-season) to get something back in return.

Fucking terrible. How every AL team in need of a pitcher let him slip away is beyond me, going to be a blast watching him hit though.

The comedic value of the at-bats alone will make this worth it, but in all seriousness I don't get this at all.

2 years, 10 per, for a fat 40 year old who only became relevant again after a shady and probably illegal medical procedure? Seems ... dicy.

Two year deals are the new one year deals. Guys who offer any value whatsoever are not signing for one year anymore.

"Mets add weight to the rotation by signing Colon to eat innings."
