I know that he didn't have the years of hype that Yu had, but I think Tanaka deserves the love he's getting. He kept his numbers in that stupid-low range even after the Japs switched to the super home run baseballs.

I had the impression that basically every team was in the 6/120 range and I thought that was a little high. IMHO he looked like a 15M per year guy, the extra 5 being that you're in a bidding war and he's got the leverage. 7/155.... geeez...

I do have to agree with you on basically all accounts though. The Yankees needed him the most of the teams who were bidding.

To win the division, CC will have to bounce back, Nova will have to pitch well again (and start more than 20 games) AND Tanaka will have to be a top of the rotation guy like everyone keeps trying to tell me he will. Don't think the bats will carry them this year.
You better have a plan at 2B/3B because if Roberts sneezes wrong, he's going to get injured. He's so brittle now, it was rough watching him because you think he's going to get hurt at any contact.

        Kelly Johnson, I guess?
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

From what I understand he's penciled in at third. Though he could be fighting Nunez for playing time.

That could be a really shitty infield . . .

They are looking to add Stephen Drew since they seem to have punted the luxury tax idea. My guess is Drew could also play 2B if needed, possibly third, when Jeter comes back to play short.
