    Market Re-Emerges for David Price

Teams that missed out on Tanaka could chase for Price, you guys think the Rays will keep him or do you think that Price could go to another team that may have tried going for Tanaka but wasn't able to obtain him?

Here is the article i just found: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/...b&ymd=20140122

Rays will surely continue to try and trade him, but I am guessing that the previous asking price will need to go down. It's not that I think they are asking for more than he's worth, but rather that I figure he would've been traded already to some of the other teams if the return they were looking for was less. From what I've read, most discussions involving a Price trade were initiated by the Rays with them basically saying "we'll give you Price if you give us prospects X, Y, and Z."

I would guess that the best teams to trade for him are Seattle, Chicago Cubs, and the Diamondbacks. Seattle definitely has the pieces to get it done but I think they are smarter to hold on to them. Cubs probably make a lot of sense as a good fit for him, and they've got a healthy farm. Diamondbacks are the ones I hope to pull the trigger. Kevin Towers will surely trade away everyone they have to get that trade done, and then they can have a Cy Young candidate for 2 seasons, no future, and a shitty farm. This would make me happy, even if it meant having to stomach Price own the Dodgers' lineup multiple times a year.

That was just arbitration. He's got 2 years of team control left.

You made a good point on the Diamondbacks haha They are trying to start a rivalry because of the fights they had last year and the Dodgers jumping in their pool, but I would love to see them get rid of some of their players for Price then Price leave after a few seasons!

At this point, they will likely get more at the trade deadline by a team looking to get a leg-up on their competition. That team would still have him for a year and a half, so the Rays still retain leverage. I can't see them moving him now, unless a team misses out on Garza and really wants to overpay in prospects.

Completely agree. The Rays are a team that can compete in that division. Trading Price would be punting the season, unless they got something amazing in return that could start right away.
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"
