Desmond turned down 7 year $85.5 million Extension. Guess he wants that Tulo/Reyes money
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

He should be lucky to receive that offer and take it and run to the bank.

Wall Street Journals says Terry Collins is leaning towards keeping Eric Young in the leadoff spot, meaning Juan Lagares and his amazing defense would be the odd man out (Chris Young in CF and Granderson in RF).

They should have never signed Chris Young. I see Lagares developing really nicely(especially defensively) and they weren't going to contend this year anyways. So by the time they were contenders they could've had a really solid outfield between Eric Young, Lagares and Granderson.

Man. We heard last week that Jesus Montero reported to Mariners camp overweight — that he admitted that all he did after winter ball was eat and was now on a weight-loss program — but we had no idea it was this bad. Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports that Montero was 40 pounds over his target weight set by the team when he showed up to Peoria.

And, as Divish reports, GM Jack Zduriencik was not happy:

That disinterest in conditioning in the offseason didn’t do much change the minds of people who have been skeptical of Montero’s work ethic. It certainly didn’t inspire Zduriencik, who was clearly unhappy with the situation.

“It’s up to him,” Zduriencik said. ” I have zero expectations for Jesus Montero. Any expectations I had are gone.”

If your boss says that you basically have no future. Just unbelievable to see someone squander an opportunity like Montero has.

What a clown.......at least for the Mariners, the deal hasn't worked out as well for the Yankees either.

I said when they were contenders. Granderson is good when healthy. Young is going to be leading off and doing it well. Lagares will develop and his fielding and baserunning are already good. He just needs his bat to improve. This will not be a bottom 10 outfield down the road.

Eric Young had a .310 OBP last year. That is not doing well. Please reevaluate.

It went up about 30 points after he was traded. Citi Field is built for speed guys like him who aren't made to hit home runs. Coors Field is almost the exact opposite. The improvement can only keep coming.

@CSNBaggs: Bochy says Giants will definitely have long man in bullpen.

In other news, Collins says Mets will definitely have cleanup hitter in lineup.
