    Fantasy Baseball Trade Advice

I was offered the following trade in the keeper league I run:

    I GIVE: Bryce Harper

I GET: Wil Myers, Jose Reyes and Adam Wainwright

For this league, we start a LF, CF, RF, not just 3 OF. My starters right now are Braun, McCutchen and Harper, with Carlos Gomez in my UTI spot. So Myers would slot in where Harper is. Ruggiano and Avisail Garcia are backups.

My SS situation is Pedro Florimon and Jordy Mercer (needless to say this was the last position I drafted). So Reyes would jump in to my starting lineup.

My SP are Kershaw, Haren, Teheran, Fister and Scott Feldman. Wainwright would be an upgrade.

Hitter stats are: R, H, HR, RBI, SB, BB, K and AVG
Pitcher stats are: W, L, SV, HLD, BB, K, ERA and WHIP

Should I make this trade or not? If so, I'll have to drop two guys. Should I drop one of those SP? Do I drop Florimon? Or what about an OF?

Myers could equal Harper down the line, and even one of Reyes and Wainwright would tip the scales in favor. Adding both is one-sided in your favor.

I hope your league goes lenient on the vetoes, because I could see some people upset on that one

You'd be robbing him blind. You already have McCutchen & Braun, so you can easily swap Harper for Myers and add Reyes & Wainwright.

Even if you were only getting Wainwright & Myers, you do that.

      Cut Florimon & Feldman

It seems like a no brainer to me, which is why I'm worried haha. I'm always hesitant to make pre-season trades, or even early season trades for that matter.

The league has been going for over 10 years now, and is pretty competitive, so most trades go through because there hasn't been anything fishy that has happened, and we are typically in the agreement that in a keeper league, people view things differently. Some guys build for the future, some building for right now.

Why in God's name did you have to ask someone if you should do this?

Strictly out of curiosity, what does the rest of your team look like?

Reyes is an aging SS that can't stay healthy, and Myers has 1/2 a season under his belt, essentially making him still a prospect. I understand you're a Rays fan, so you're going to be biased towards Myers, but there is still plenty of risk in this deal.

So this trade would plug up some holes in your roster. Where is the risk?

Why is your pitching so awful?

Also now we know why Firsttimer quit the keeper league, he joined this league.

I didn't doubt myself before, but that makes it 110%, make the deal and don't look back.

--OF Wil Myers was not worried about his slow start to the spring, hitting .154 with four singles through March 17, but Rays manager Joe Maddon had some concerns given this is Myers first full big-league season.
"Once you've reached that particular level, you have to maintain that particular level," Maddon said. "Being as good as he is, as young as he is, there is that group out there that's going to try to combat what he had done last year. He's got to be aware of making adjustments as we creep into the season, or be open to that."That's not taking away from the visceral component that he has. He's just pretty much in the moment. He's out there playing, he's feeling things. I love that about him. But maybe raise the mental level of his game just a touch -- being a little bit more aware of what's going on around him. A really good second-year guy, that's how you avoid the proverbial sophomore jinx."
Not saying he will fall flat or anything, but the guy has played in 88 career MLB games. And given that Reyes will likely spend his typical time on the DL, and the way SPs can fall off in a hurry, there is plenty of risk. Sorry for being objective.

You really must be mentally fucking retarded. You have no SS. Your pitching blows. Are you really overvaluing Bryce Harper that much?
