if Aaron Hill played for anyone but Toronto he'd be a lock for the ASG.
I watched This Week in Baseball for the first time in ages this morning. Same as usual, a 30 minute program without one single trace of the Blue Jays in it, even during the highlight reel section where this week alone Scott Rolen probably had 3-4 plays easily deserving of top play of the week.
Ah well.
Brian Tallet is becoming an absolute beast on the mound.Comment

Originally posted by houtzSo would Freddy Sanchez. I remember reading he had the best batting average of all NL second basemen. That was a week or two ago so don't flame if shit has changed. Just sucks that the smaller market teams get no respect
Hill's batting .330. No other 2B in the AL is at .300! He leads in hits, avg, rbi and hr.
Ridiculous.
Nice early lead so far, I think it might be a quick one for Moyer.Comment

I just read this
The fans select the starting lineups. Finishing 2nd in the fan voting does NOT make you an automatic all-star. The players and managers vote to fill in the 8 backups and 8 pitchers (5 starters and 3 relievers).
That gives you 24 of the 32 players that play on each team. The managers vote and select 7 more players (and each team must be represented - so they must take that into consideration too). The fans then vote again for 1 of the 5 players from each league for the final position.
Any subsitutions to the rosters - due to being hurt or not wanting to play - the manager and the commissioners office make the call on who makes it.Comment

Not smart business sense.
The MLB wants as many people as possible to tune into this event, and besides we're talking about one guy who will probably not even see the field during the game to begin with.Comment
