With the Mets track record on injuries, I'm not going to kill Beltran for his decision

The big names keep rolling in! It looks like the Mets are going too bring back Fernando Tatis to platoon with Murphy at 1st base. Josh Fogg was thrown into the pitching mess, signing a minor league deal.

I'm literally shitting my pants about this season. Tatis, Castillo, God know what at catcher, and Gary Matthews Jr to start the season. Looks like they are just destined to win the NL East.

Tatis will be super utility role, he won't start.

Catcher likely will be Santos/Blanco...damn good defensive tandem.

PAgan likely will start in CF...expect him to do big things this year.

if there was a game we were destined to win, it was that...the pitching performance, the Endy catch...UGH...all wasted.

I feel for you Mets fans, because it has the makings of another long season. Outside of Johan, that pitching corps scares me - yikes!

Mets problems start with the Wilpons - they do everything ass-backwards, starting with the new stadium. You'd think those morons would fill it with Met history, but no. They had to be forced to do it after fans complained. Mickey-mouse organization.

ugh, down 3-1 in the 9th

Valentin and Chavez lead off with back-to-back singles. What does Randolph do? Brings in Cliff Floyd on one leg, swinging for the fences, instead of moving the runners over to put them in scoring position for the top of the order.

                  :drunk:

They did it to themselves, So many things have to go right this year pitching/batting.

Pitching: Pelfry taking the next step, Maine staying healthy, Perez being consistant/productive, A decent fifth starter emerging from Nieve/Niese/Figueroa/Misch, Parnell pitching like the first half of last year out of bullpen, Escobar/Igarashi contributing to bullpen

Batting: Getting prodction out of the Santos/Blanco/Thole (maybe) platoon, Reyes coming back fully healthy, Wright getting his power back, Murphy progressing at first base, Tatis still having something in the tank, Pagan/Matthews Jr/Martinez producing something while Beltran is out, Beltran coming back fully healthy

I'm sure I even missed a few, Mets need a majority of these to turn out in their favour if they want a competative season.

Cliff Floyd was on WFAN and talked about game 7. He said earlier that day, Randolph said he was not going to be used. Floyd still prepared however. Once the 9th came around with 2 runners on with no outs, down by 2, Floyd said Randolph was going back and forth whether to bunt or send Floyd up to try to hit a HR (Floyd could not run so anything on the ground would have been a double play).

Randolph at the last moment decided to send Floyd up...the rest is history.

Right-handed pitcher Rafael Montero -- arguably the Mets' No. 2 prospect behind Noah Syndergaard -- will make his major-league debut on Wednesday against the Yankees at Citi Field.

                          How’s this for a debut?

Right-handed pitcher Rafael Montero — arguably the Mets’ s No. 2 prospect behind Noah Syndergaard — will make his major-league debut on Wednesday against the Yankees at Yankee Stadium.

Jenrry Mejía has been demoted to the bullpen, and prospect Jacob deGrom could be added to the bullpen in the next three or four days.
“We understand it’s a debut on a big stage,” general manager Sandy Alderson told reporters on Monday. “…We think he’s ready now.”
Mejía is the “best resource” to help New York’s struggling bullpen, Alderson told reporters on Monday.
I wish Mejia would stay a starter (for fantasy), but they need the help in the pen (like always).

deGrom's power sinker will be making the Mets pen at some point before Memorial Day, too. It's about time that Valverde & Farnsworth are brushed aside. Mejia is probably best served out of the pen for now and I guess they'll look at Familia in the closer spot for now.

Pumped for Montero getting the call. With his 40 IP so far, he likely has another 140 left in him before they shut him down this year.
