    Hughes back in rotation?

Phil Hughes is on his way back into the Yankees' rotation, according to a report in Newsday.

Hughes, 22, is the likely replacement for Chien-Ming Wang, who was placed on the disabled list with hip weakness after Friday's game at Boston.

"Hughesie's been throwing the ball really well," manager Joe Girardi said. "I'm excited about the reports on his starts."

Hughes has been lights-out for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, going 3-0 with a 1.86 ERA in three starts. He has struck out 19 and walked three in 19 1/3 innings and last pitched Wednesday.

Hughes was expected to be a stable member of the rotation last year, but injuries and ineffectiveness (0-4, 6.62 ERA) prevented that.

Hopefully he can do better than wang

My mom is 5'1" 140 lbs with a herniated disc, and she can do better than Wang. Anyone can do better than Wang.

Good luck Yankee fans, have fun with overrated pitchin, except for Pettite and Mariano.

they have nothing to play for once the contract is signed and the dough starts flowing. sub par performances are all that are needed from there

lol at joe girardi being excited about phil hughes's strong start in AAA. I'm pretty sure last year he had a strong spring and everyone was excited about him, and then he toed the rubber and cracked under pressure.

i wonder how bad it can get this time.

Question-Is Joe Girrardi on the hot seat this year if the yankees were to continue to struggle?

                6 innings. 2 hits. 0 runs. Yankees win 11-0.

Hopefully Hughes can keep this up. He should gain a ton of confidence in his stuff after this game.

Even that is generous. Mariano might be the very definition of overrated.

I picked up Hughes on my Fantasy roster the other day. Put him on the bench, I am please he did so well. I watched the on mlb.tv, and cursed at the yankee offense for takin an hour to put up 10 runs LOL. Otherwise, I wanted to see how far this kid would go in the game. Plan on startin him next week, hopefully he isnt playing Toronto.

Bill Simmons talks to a very distraught JackO about the Yankees' early season struggles. Is there any hope?

click that, go to 3:49 and listen to the most famous "celebrity"'s friend yankee fan explain exactly why he is so overrated. he does it better than anyone else could

                              Is this a joke?

He's living off of his legacy. He routinely blows it against the ONE team that you should NEVER blow it against as a Yankee.

Granted, the closer position in general is a little overrated, but Rivera is living without blame like he's the lights out guy from the mid-to-late 90's.

                              How is he NOT overrated?
