    Amare to Washington?

There is yet another rumor running around about one of the Phoenix Three being traded. Over the weekend we saw reports that the Suns might send Amare Stoudemire - yes, here we go with Stoudemire trade rumors again - to the Washington Wizards for Antawn Jamison, the expiring contract of Mike James, and the #5 pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.

lol, the rumors surrounding STAT never end. How scary would that be though? Gilbert, Caron, Amare?

I personally like this trade if it happens. Wizards are my favorite team along with the Cavs. If Arenas can get back to All-Star form, then that would be a dangerous trio of Butler/Amare/Arenas. The #5 overall pick is probably going to be spent on a PG like Brandon Jennings. Antawn Jamison can still produce, but he's getting up there with his age. The same goes for Mike James. Amare is only like 25 or 26 and if the Wizards could get him locked to a long term deal, then that would be beneficial. The deal would be nice for both teams, but the Wizards would be dangerous with Amare.

I still don't get why the Suns would trade one of the games best young post players. When healthy Stoudemire is among the games best. Jamison is alright, but he isn't anything special and certainly doesn't have the presence that a Stoudemire has. People shouldn't fall in love with the stats.

Is Phoenix rebuilding or what? They seem to constantly change their mind.

If they're rebuilding, they need to get Nick Young in this deal somehow.

It helps get the ball rolling on what Phoenix needs to do. Rebuild.

Obviously Shaq wouldn't be very far behind if this deal happens to go through.

It's pretty easy to understand. There is no guarantee he will decide to come back to the team after next season. As opposed to letting him go for nothing, they get a solid PF with range and who can rebound, while being able to get a solid point to come in and take over since all previous attempts at a new point guard etc have failed up to this point.

I have an idea....build around your young stud PF.

Stoudemire's issues with the organization are rooted in the fact that they don't seem to understand that he can be the cornerstone of the franchise. Nash had his time, but he's certainly on the decline. Build an offense around Stoudemire, he'll stay and the organization will win games....There isn't much else to it. They have a model for success in Orlando.....get some shooters, some ballhandlers, some perimeter defenders and go.

You're absolutely right. Amare just gives off the vibe that he wants to win. And win now.

anyway onto the trade.... highly unlikely this actually happens..... no way the Suns take Jamison on with 3 years ( i believe) left on his deal and he is already 32, not to mention he plays little defense and is essentially a glorified tweener...... too big and slow for the three spot to small for the 4...

I like it for both teams. Amare won't come back if the team starts rebuilding any way. Plus Jamison is a player who can play the 3 or the 4. A good vet, expiring in james, plus the pick.
