Raptors Trade Kapono For Evans

The Toronto Raptors have acquired Reggie Evans from the Philadelphia 76ers for Jason Kapono.

League sources say the trade will be officially announced this afternoon.

The move will save Toronto financially.

Evans is owed $4.6 million next season and $5 million in 2010-11 on his contract.

Kapono's deal will pay him $6.2 million this coming season and $6.6 million the season after.

I wouldn't say the Raptors ripped the Sixers off. The Sixers need a better outside shooter on their roster. Miller and Young aren't bigtime 3 point shooters, neither is Iggy.

Anyways, its an all right deal. The raptors clear a bit of cap up but they lose Kapono. At the 9th pick we could probably pick up a shooter to replace him.

Evans is exactly what we need on this team.. a tough guy who rebounds and plays defense.

he's useless when you have six other guys that can shoot the three, like the raptors do. the sixers, on the other hand, aren't so fortunate and are planning on starting a useless black guy at SG (willie green). reggie evans was going to rot on the bench in their new offense, but kapono actually could contribute

Willie Green is better than Jason Kapono. As bad as that sounds, its true. Atleast Green shows SOME ability to put the ball on the floor. If it aint a catch a shoot, or a FREE lane to the hole, JK is useless. Dont get me wrong.. JK will TRY to create for himself.. its just painful to watch.
