    The Better Smith from 2004

josh Smith JR by not playing too much is limiting his turnovers (which is a goodthing)

besides shoot jr smith doesnt really do all that much hence dhantay jones getting the start Smith rebounds plays great defense and can slam it down bringing energy to the team

J.R will be the star not Josh
in just 22 min jr was able to come up with 1.8 turnovers pg now in just 22 min so if by the same standard add 11 min and thats 2.7 turnovers pg....................hes good coming off the bench

also Josh only has room to improve his shot think about if he develops his 3 even more and can shoot with consistency also his jumper is improving i would josh over JR a big man cant be replaced while shooters tend to get cold

while JR can go up imo his stupid ass demeanor on the court gets him in trouble he needs to keep composure and not do the fancy shit needs to just get to the basics and build from there

yeah kobe ranks up in TO as well but imo josh smith who can rebound and be a good defensive presence in the post is better than a guy who at any moment could go ice cold from the 3 (while on the other hand could go hot) but Josh can develop the 3 and already has an improving below avg jumper

They are both really inconsistent, but I think Josh has had the better career overall. Easily one of the best shot blockers in the league, and the only player that might be more athletic is LeBron.

J.R. has really had his moments, but he's just too streaky to really be a good player.

I'll take Josh. Great shot blocker and slasher. I don't ever see him becoming a good shooter, but I'll take everything else he brings to the table over JR Smith coming into the game and launching 3's the whole time. He can easily shoot the Nuggets right out (or in) of the game by himself.

even as a Nuggets fan i say Josh, an all around great player, love JR, but hes still young, straight from HS, we got him for like a draft pick though from the Bulls, so he was a good talent for cheap

They're both fucking boneheads that play way below their talent. JR I think has the better chance to develop some consistency if he can stick with George Karl and Karl can get his ass in check.

I'd take Josh Smith, but he seriously needs to stop taking so many jumpshots and get hs butt in the post a lot more.

And rebounds per game. And blocks per game. And all around defense.

Those are pretty big factors. JR is great at scoring and would have a much better PPG if he played Josh's minutes but Josh just gives you so much more on the defensive end in both his rebounding and overall shot blocking.

Smoove leaves a lot to be desired as a man defender tho. Amazing help defender.. still struggles in man-to-man defense. Dont put it up weak when hes inspired and around the bucket tho.

I agree, but you can't completely take that out of the equation.

OP said the only difference between them is the minutes played, and that's nowhere near true.
