I hate to be the bearer of bad news...

but realistically, this is one of the weakest draft the NBA will have had in years.

Last year's draft was excellent for obvious reasons but this year just pales in comparison.

    Ever since 2003, the NBA has had really strong draft classes. Durant/Oden 2007, Roy/Aldridge 2006, CP3/Dwill 2005, D12 2004, and of course Dwade/Lbj/Melo 2003.

Outside of Griffin, every single prospect this year comes with question marks attached. Even Griffin's future is kinda murky imo considering the Clips won the lottery this year.

This draft just reminds me of the dreadful 2000 draft. http://www.virtualsportsnetwork.com/...ad.php?t=23446

Don't get me wrong. There is definitely reason to by hyped up but I just don't see a whole lot of these lottery picks growing into the most solid NBA players.

    You guys agree/disagree?

Also, I think you'll find a few gems in this draft. We'll get to see which team has the best player scouting staff.

its definitley a weak draft, but I coupld see some of these players turning into solid pros, maybe even all stars.

I dont think its as bad as the Draft in 2000, and hopefully we never see a draft like that again

        Griffin
        Rubio
        Harden
        Holliday
        Derozen
        Earl Clark
        Flynn
        Curry
        Tyreke Evans

I think all these guys could become good players in the NBA, and thabeet will be a good defensive center, but I dont think he will ever be a consistent double digit scorer

It's not a strong draft but it still beats the hell out of the 2000 draft, and it's probably better than the 2001 draft as well.

I would say it'll be around the level of the 2006 draft, nothing special but it does provide the NBA with at least a couple all-pros and a decent number of role players.
Finally back after a 3 year hiatus!

The 2nd round depth in this years draft is of high quality. Might lack stars but theres a ton of talent to be had. I dont think its going to go down like the 2000 draft.

It's only weak because there isn't much ELITE talent off the bat.

Many of these teams are looking for exactly that but this draft IMO is filled with guys who will be in the league for a long time IMO.

Of course you have question marks on everyone but the bottom line here is that most of these players aren't polished yet outside of BG and he's still a little raw but that's good, there's so much to many of these guys game that they could potentially become star players or guys who are #2 or #3 options on teams.

This is a weak draft yet there should be a lot of future starters in this draft

Griffin, Harden, Thabeet, Rubio, and Hill imo will be good in the next couple of years

This draft will have very few stars but a lot of role players.

This draft lacks the superstar potential, but there are a lot of guys who I think will be very solid starters in the NBA.

Going to have to disagree with you Mike for this reason:

You're comparing them to players who have already has NBA success/failure. You can't really judge a draft class until they play in the league. We rate draft classes by their success in the NBA. The 2002 NBA Draft was suppose to be a good year for talent, wasn't it? Player of the Year Drew Gooden, Memphis sensation Dajuan Wagner (compared to AI), and who can forget Jay Williams of Duke? One sudden turn in their careers and suddenly they are labeled as busts and the draft is considered "weaker".

In the 2000 NBA Draft, it was Darius Miles, Stromile Swift, and Mike Miller. Especially Darius Miles and the only notable thing he's done since being drafted is being in "The Perfect Score", which pretty much foreshadowed his career.

Let's give these guys some time in the NBA before we label them as a bad draft class. Sure, we want to be impressed by what's on paper, just like the little cute animal prints on my toliet paper, but it doesn't stray from the fact that I'm wiping my ass with it. What's on paper means shit.
