David Lee Leaving For Grizzlies Or Thunder

A source told Ken Berger that he believes David Lee's days as with the Knicks are over.

Agent Mark Bartelstein will reportedly have Lee sign an offer sheet with the Grizzlies or Thunder that the Knicks will not be willing to match.

"It's a tough loss for New York, but they don't want to screw up their 2010 plan," the source said.

Don't want to screw up their 2010 plan. God, I cannot wait for that shit to backfire. Too bad he's going to teams that suck.

He probably would have had his time cut into by the rookie (cannot remember his name atm) anyways. He is good, but nothing special. He has a motor (ie. White boy with athleticism), but he doesn't really have the ability to be a great power forward, but can definitely be a good/average one.

Yes Thunder. No way he'd get playing time with both Gasol and Thabeet. THABEET NEEDS MINUTES GO THABEET.

As Yao Ming's injury shows, David Lee has to look out for David Lee.
Gotta get the dollars before a career-threatening injury.

And he was already on a team that sucked anyway ... and his new home will have way better real estate prices.

Don't forgot the Thunder have Kristic that seems to be back and can contribute. If he starts this season I can see him as a 12/8.

lol @ you all thinking we will have Marc Gasol and Hasheem Thabeet on the court at the same time a lot of minutes. Both are centers.

I really hope we get Lee.

              PG: Conley, Juan Carlos Navarro
              SG: Mayo, Q-Rich
              SF: Gay, Sam Young, Carroll
              PF: Lee, Hakim, Carroll
              C: Thabeet, Gasol

That's a nice team for the future. I believe Chris Wallace when he said we'd be back in the playoffs in 3 years (season after this one).

That's what I'm liking the best about it. The worst part of our game last year was rebounding. We're adding a top 5 rebounder who can also score some in the post. Adding Lee plus Thabeet, our biggest problem just turned into one of our best assets.

Im around Nashville but I think i'll drive out to Memphis a few times this year to see some games especially if they add Lee. LIke you just said Lee and Thabeet more than solves the rebounding problem from last year. I couldve done without them adding Q, he doesnt seem to be of much value but neither was Darko so its a wash.

Meh. Darko was doing nothing and we were drafting a center. So we had 2 centers plus Darko.

Last year we had no depth and needed to play Buckner, Q-Ross, and Marko Jaric a lot. Q-Rich is an upgrade over all of those guys. With him, and Juan Carlos Navarro possibly coming back, we have some good depth now in the backcourt.

I used to drop bombs with La Bomba.

I don't know if there's a good chance or not if he's coming back yet. In order for the Grizzlies to retain his rights, they needed to make a qualifying offer and that's what they did. JCN didn't suck though. Averaged like 10.5, 2.5, and 2.5 and was a real good 3-point shooter.
