    Marquis Daniels headed to Boston

The Celtics satisfied their search for a backup small forward today, securing a commitment from free agent Marquis Daniels to join the team for the 2009-10 season.

Daniels is expected to sign with the Celtics in one of two ways - either for the $1.9 million biannual exception or in a sign-and-trade deal with Indiana. The Celtics and Pacers are still hashing out those details.

But the Celtics have reached agreement with a potentially valuable role player - one who averaged a career-high 13.8 points for Indiana last season. The problem is that Daniels - often injured during his career - played in only 54 games last season due to a wrist injury that ended his season in mid-March.

The Pacers decided not to pick up his option in June.
Great signing by the Celtics. They get even better.

    1984 Record: 44-38 (9th in west)
    1985 Record: 42-40 (7th in west; 1st round exit)
1986 Record: 51-31 (3rd in west; swept in finals)

I agree. Good signing. Great upgrade over Tony Allen and his ankles.

Celtics by far are the best team in the NBA on paper, if they can stay healthy they are gonna be near impossible to beat, this is a GREAT signing IMO

Yeah really good signing for the Celtics. They needed a nice wing-man off the bench and Daniels will fit in nicely.

The "Big 3" in the east just keep getting good role players for cheap..

            Celtics are looking scary.

Daniels is very underrated...as a Cavs fan, this sucks. The Celtics continue to make good moves.

the lakers need to say hello to Lamar Odom before I judge whatg there team is lookin like this upcoming season, cause if they dont resign him then going into the season the spurs may have the deeper team

seems like orlando and boston are doing everything in their power to be an elite team, while cleavland seems to be fine with the team they have
