Sources: Marbury will end up in Boston.

Sources with knowledge of the situation told ESPN.com this week that Boston is Stephon Marbury's preferred destination if he manages to become a free agent and that the Celtics are indeed hopeful of signing him.

Celtics general manager Danny Ainge did not immediately respond to a request for comment on a New Year's Day holiday for the entire league and has generally refused to address the possibility of signing Marbury.

One Celtics source insists that Kevin Garnett has voiced no opposition to the idea of signing Marbury for the rest of the season to strengthen Boston's backcourt depth behind starters Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen.

When asked specifically about the likelihood of Marbury joining the Celtics this season, the source predicted that "it will happen."

I like it. Eddie House is not the answer.

I don't think he'll fit in there. It'll go straight to his head playin with real pros.

hes gets angry for not getting enough playing time and shoots rondo.

Marbury will not fit into the celtics stlye of play. the offense must focus around him or he's useless.

Pierce will throw some gang signs up and the Green gang from Saints Row will show up and shoot everybody in sight except KG, Ray Allen, and Rondo. The coach life will also be spared.

                      K, so here's the situation.

If Marbury is a total head case, the Celtics lose maybe two or three games they normally would win, cut him, then go on without him in the playoffs with the #1 or #2 seed.

If Marbury fits in, the team is the favorite to win the title

                      Hmm... tough cohice

The ability to have someone off the bench who can create his own shot and put points on the board is exactly what the Celtics need lately.

When Marbury comes in off the bench with House, Big Baby, Powe, etc that offense will mostly likely focus around him or have him as the number two option. Marbury won't be mad.

Actually the Celtics feed off of KG's energy, if you notice when he's down the team is down and when KG is killing the whole team catches fire.

KG is the gas to the fire, but once the gas runs out the fire will as well.

Rondo is the Oxygen. They feed off him when the gas is gone. They don't need gas. As long as the oxygen is there, they're good.
