That's what I'm trying to figure out. 'Underachiever' is that cat's middle name.

edit-nevermind I get it, you're a Mavs fan. Ok. Enjoy your average team this year full of washed up veterans.

Cool. Our top 6 only has one guy in our 30s (Bibby), your top 6 only has one guy in his 20s (Howard) and he's 29.

So, I'll take Atlanta's young and athletic (minus Bibby) nucleus over the fading Dallas nucleus any day.

You take way too much stock in age.

Well when we are talking about the fortunes of a 50 win team vs. a 47 win team, you'd think their age would be a factor when looking at the next season. Especially given that the Hawks have 3 starters under 25 (provided Marvin comes back) and the Mavs will be rebuilding in a year or two anyway.

A bunch of bad contracts on that team too. Erick Dampier made a million for every point plus rebound he averaged per game game last year, Marion is making a cool 17 million, an absurd amount for a guy who averaged 13/9 last year.

So yeah, I'll take the 47 win team largely consisting of guys that are still 2 years away from their prime over the 50 win team from last year that is a year or two over it's prime and will have to blow it all up again anyway when they finish near the bottom. You tell me which situation is better from a fan's perspective.

Very excellent counterpoints. I think we can both agree to disagree, but I applaud your eloquently stated rebuttal.

Rashad McCants figured out how to pass the ball yet?

Last time I saw him anything but chucking up pointless shots seemed a complete mystery

EDIT : Looks like I did him wrong , he averaged one whole assist per game last season (1.4) . Better than his previous season which was 0.9 lol. I thought it would have been closer to the 0.1 area
