This.
Now it looks like everyone else made the good moves and the Cavaliers are reaching, hoping to catch lightening. While it's hard to improve the best team (record wise) the Cavaliers managed to do it. However, so did L.A., Boston, and Orlando.25-02, 23:16 Yawkey Way celtics fucking suckComment

LA - gained Artest but lost Ariza - small improvement
Boston - Got Sheed and will lose either Baby or Powe - solid improvement
Orlando - Lost Rafer, Turk, and Lee, gained VC and Bass - small regression
Cleveland - Lost Sasha, Ben, and Kinsey (lawlz) for Shaq, Parker, and Moon - how can you say this isnt the biggest improvement? Look what we gave up for what we got!Comment

You are blinded by homerism. Jamario Moon blows. Get over that signing already..
Parker and Shaq were solid acquisitions.. but a lot of teams have made big improvements this off-season (Mavs and Raptors included).
Lol @ the Magic regressing this off-season.. you ignored the small moves they made like Matt Barnes, Ryan Anderson, and CJ Watson, aswell. 1 through 12 the Magic might be the most rounded team in the entire NBA.
And if you think Ron Artest is only a small improvement over Trevor Ariza you're going to be in for a rude awakening when the Cavs meet the Lakers and Kobe doesnt have to focus on guarding LeBron..Last edited by Kuzzy Powers; 08-07-2009, 12:37 PM.Comment

Wow...I can't believe this is still being debated...makes for good convo though.
The teams that made the best improvements IMO are ones that will not be contending for a title...one of them being the Pistons.
Boston, Cleveland and Orlando all made moves but none of them are a clear favorite to come out of the east to lose to the Lakers in the Finals.
Cleveland - one shot deal with Shaq because I seriously doubt he will be with us after this year. I'm more concerned with how we'll look after this season. Shaq will be gone and Z will be older and Andy is not the answer at PF that we need.
Boston - they're pissin Big Baby off and all but shitted on Powe after all he has done for them. Wallace has some big shoes to fill.
Orlando - I'm still not sold on their moves...that VC move is a better move for NBA2k/Live players IMO. LOL
Lakers made the best move by resigning Odom and getting Artest...that's just crazy!Comment

first off when was the last time you saw vince carter play basketball, most likely you havent caught too many New Jersey Nets games lately so im just wondering why your opinion of carter is so low? Just last year he averaged about 21/5/5
is it cause hes injury prone? (often something people say about VC alot) - has played in atleast 76 games per season since 04-05, and the year before that played 73.
alot of people have said the magic are gonna miss hedos clutchness at the end of games, when if you look at the numbers, vince is actually better in late game situations. VC has made the 2nd most game winning shots since 03-04 behind Lebron.
Which players are the best in the closing moments with a game on the line? 82games.com seeks out the answers in this look at game winning shot stats.
and actually compared to turk, Vince is much better in the 4th IMO
•Turkoglu averaged 5.1 points in the fourth quarter while Carter came in at 4.9 points — essentially a tie.
•But Turkoglu put up 29.6 percent of his total shots in that time while Carter took only 20.2 percent of his shots.
•Turkoglu took 33.1 percent of his 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and a high 38.9 percent of his free throws.
•But Turkoglu, whose 3-point percentage was 36 for the game, only made 31 percent in the fourth. Carter hit 38 percent of his 3-pointers in the fourth, which is about the same as his percentage for the game.
Both players also had a flair for the dramatic last season. Turkoglu hit memorable game-winners, including a 3-point bank shot in Portland and a step-back trey that won a playoff game against Philadelphia.
Carter vs. Turkoglu: The fourth quarter numbers
Percentage of points scored in 4th
Turkoglu 29.7
Carter 22.1
Percentage of steals in 4th
Turkoglu 14.6
Carter 22.0
Percentage of 3s taken in 4th
Turkoglu 33.1
Carter 20.0
Percentage of rebounds in 4th
Turkoglu 24.0
Carter 18.1
Percentage of turnovers in 4th
Turkoglu 21.9
Carter 18.2
Percentage of assists in 4th
Turkoglu 24.1
Carter 20.3
Percentage of shots taken in 4th
Turkoglu 29.6
Carter 20.2

I still think Turk fits better into the system but Vince Carter is the better all-around player, anyone questioning that obviously knows nothing about Vince. It remains to be seen how he'll fit but for anyone to say the team regressed is beyond foolish.Comment

how do you figure that? I love when people say stuff like this.

I find it funny how people shit on players or try to take away from players what they brought to their team AFTER they leave. You can compare Turk and Carter all you want but the bottom line is Turk succeeded in Orlando's system...it remains to be seen if Vince will...Comment
