    Alex Rios leaving Toronto?

It appears that Alex Rios' days with the Toronto Blue Jays could be numbered. ESPN is reporting that the outfielder has been claimed on waivers by an unnamed club.

Toronto now has three choices about what to do with the 28-year old, who is batting .261 with 12 home runs and 58 RBI's this season:

    - Toronto can pull Rios back off of waivers, and keep him.

    - Toronto can negotiate a trade with the team that put in the claim on Rios.

    - Toronto can allow the claiming team to take Rios and his salary, at no cost to the Blue Jays.

Rios still has six years remaining on a seven-year, $69.35 million contract that he signed in April 2008. He will be paid $2 million for the remainder of this season.
If someone is willing to swallow that giant salary for a guy who will NEVER EVER IN A MILLION FUCKING YEARS live up to the potential he shows....then fucking let him walk.

Can't Wells go through waivers too? Please?!

I doubt they're going to let him go for nothing, but im sure they're going to try to negotiate a trade for whichever team tried to claim him.

I don't know the exact numbers, but if it frees up enough money to get halladay to stay, who knows

Thought he was gonna be great, turned out to be average. Give him the Jose Cruz Jr. award for being disappointing after a promising first few years.

Sucks too because if he could've become a superstar, that "AR-15" nickname had so much potential.

It's looking like the White Sox are possibly the team that put the claim out to him :-/

They're just testing the waters, trying to see what's out there.

                      You really think that?

Why wouldn't they just give him to whatever team claimed him. It's the easiest way to go, they don't pay a thing and get rid of a huge contract off their books.

Too much potential there to just give it away. He really isnt having a terrible year.. hes just not living up to his standards or money. If we let him walk for nothing we will regret it in the future, im sure of it.
