    Hornets-Wolves agree on three-player deal

The New Orleans Hornets have agreed to trade reserve point guard Antonio Daniels and a 2014 second-round draft pick to Minnesota in exchange for forward Darius Songaila and guard Bobby Brown.

A person with direct knowledge of the trade confirmed it to The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the trade had not been officially announced.

The move will cut the Hornets' payroll by $1.3 million this season.

Songaila has been in the NBA for six seasons, averaging 7 points. Brown, who was on the Hornets' summer league team in 2008, played 68 games with Sacramento and Minnesota last season, his first in the NBA.

    1984 Record: 44-38 (9th in west)
    1985 Record: 42-40 (7th in west; 1st round exit)
1986 Record: 51-31 (3rd in west; swept in finals)

      yay a 2014 draft pick!
"From the time he hits the court, he plays at a competitive level that you rarely see," Popovich says. "He does the exact same things that Kobe (Bryant) does, that Michael Jordan did.

He does. Daniels is a rental and will take on a leadership role with the team. Kahn rids the Wolves of Songalia's 4.8M player option next season. Long story short, the Wolves will have money to throw around come 2010 free agency.

Brown is a bonafide scrub and Songalia is a rich man's Mark Madsen. Daniels can still play the game.

He's probably pissed he won't have a chance at a ring now though.

Sessions isn't an amazing shooter, neither is Flynn really. Both of them are pretty good finishers at the rim though. I could see Kahn wanting to start Sessions at the 2.

Only thing is, tall opposing backcourts will rip them to shreds when they are on defense. lol

He's just workin with the scraps he was given. You gotta admire how busy he has been this offseason. Championship contenders aren't built overnight or by sitting on your ass. lol.

And there's no saying that what he is doing will in fact build a championship contender, but it's better than what the Wolves were before.

A Flynn/Sessions backcourt would be disastrous, but you never know what they might do. I can potentially see either of them play at the same time as Daniels though.

It's easy to say OMG WTF ANOTHER PG but just a couple of months ago, the Wolves had like fuckin 8 power forwards on their team.

If you saw a contending team doing something like this, then yeah, definitely SMH type stuff but the Wolves are far from contenders and are just setting themselves up for the future.

Stop trying to cover for the Wolves Mike. Just cause you're a franchise fanboy Wolves fan doesn't mean you can defend them ;)
