When will the Chargers fire Norv Turner?

It needs to be done already. The Chargers have one of the best teams in the league when healthy but our coaching staff always lets us down.

Will A.J. Smith ever grow a sack and fire him already. The rest of the coaching staff will improve with a good head coach.

    Coming soon...

Yeah, the only thing I could say Norv Turner isn't bad at is getting some wins late in the season and early playoffs. We need to land a much better coach next season. I may be dormant Chargers fan until Norv Turner is fired.

    Coming soon...

The Chargers are washed up. Time for their shitty ass bandwagon fans to jump off the bandwagon.

        This ...

Outside of Dallas I have never seen a team with more bandwagon fans in recent years (don't ask me why a team without a playoff win in over a decade get bandwagon fans but they do)

Most of the bandwagon fans I've seen were from Canada. Mainly because of L.T.

Don't call me a bandwagon fan until you know where I was born and where half of my family lives...

He won't be fired - AJ Smith would basically be admitting he made a mistake in hiring him, something he would never want to do. We'll see how the rest of the season plays out and if winning the AFC West will be enough for him to keep his job.

I'd nominate Vikings fans. They sign Favre and suddenly everyone is a diehard Viking fan here. People I know have never watched more than 10 mins of football in their lives are now trying to teach the game to me and explain why the Vikings are a superior team. Half them can't even pronounce the name Favre. This is a fan base that was 20,000 tickets short of selling out the Vikings playoff game last year a week before the game. I'm not sure how short they wound up but I know they were dangerously close to blacked out. If the Vikings lose tonight or when they eventually blow it this season, I won't hear a word from any of these people. That's about the time you start hearing, "Oh, I don't even care about the Vikings" around here. Happens every year like clockwork.

There are some good and true diehard fans here but overall, there is no bigger bandwagoning fan base than Minnesota. And thats not just football, its all sports with the exception of hockey. They are great hockey fans here which is awesome.

On topic, I hope they fire Turner soon. I thought it was a poor hiring in the first place.

this. smith fired marty for this idiot and if norv goes, so does AJ. which really needs to happen if this franchise ever wants to win.

Short of San Diego winning it all.. I think Norv's last season is in full swing.

Too many great coaches on the market for AJ Smith to not want to run Norval out.

My money is on Gruden or Shanahan winding up there, considering how good Philip Rivers is.

I have to say you're wrong here.

What kept Turner in San Diego one more year was the fact when Shanahan and Gruden hit the market AJ Smith had already committed to him. They should run away with the AFC West with the talent they have and should have already posted at least an AFC Championship to their credit. If Marty went 14-2 and got shitcanned, what makes you think Norv freakin Turner will last any longer?

Wade Phillips is in the same boat. Each of them are on a short leash that keeps getting tighter.

Them and a bunch of other coaches. You have Cowher, Shanahan, Gruden, Holmgren and Billick waiting in the wings. Maybe Dungy too?

Yeah, just saying since goblin probably was inferring that.

I guess A.J. Smith could possibly keep Norv Turner for another season if the available coaches over the offseason is really poor. If I see a good group of coaches available and A.J. Smith doesn't fire Norv Turner I really don't know what I'll do.

Washington is probably more likely.. I think Lovie will get another year, especially if the Bears keep winning.

San Diego would definitely intrigue him though.. don't believe otherwise. He'd get a shot to still kick the Raiders ass and basically beat up on Denver for thinking he didn't have it. He'd inherit a much more talented team, and I think would be a lot happier working under Spanos than Synder

San Diego's defense is already terrible. Under Shanahan that unit would give up 500 yards a game. lol.
