So...When does Vince Young get to start.

Let me preface this by saying I know Vince Young sucks, I think the Titans hate him and it's very possible Kerry Collins sobers up and leads the Titans to a win over Indy next game...but when does Vince Young get to start?

Collins isn't a very good short term solution and he's way to old to improve and be a long term one.

Plus this is his stat line for the season:
5 TDs, 6 INTs, 1 Lost Fumble. That lost fumbled sealed the game against the Titans.

    Some article I found:

Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher was forced to call upon Kerry Collins(notes) early last season and decided shortly after to stick with the veteran all season. By default, he may have no choice but to sit Collins in favor of Vince Young(notes) – the team’s opening-day starter last year and the NFL offensive rookie of the year in 2006.

Collins was 29-of-48 passing for 284 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions as the Titans dropped to 0-4 with a 37-17 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The Titans, who started 10-0 last season before finishing 13-3 to earn the AFC’s top seed, have scored more than 17 points just once this season (31 during a Week 2 loss against the Houston Texans). Even still, Fisher is not ready to make a move.

Collins gives the Titans the “best chance to win,” Fisher said following Sunday’s game.

Young has only attempted 14 passes since being replaced during Week 1 last year, including none this year. However, he was the franchise’s first-round pick in the 2006 NFL draft and it’s believed owner Bud Adams will eventually nudge Fisher to play Young.

“We all know how [Adams] feels about Vince,” an unnamed Titans player said after Sunday’s game.

Another team source believes the $26.1 million that Young was guaranteed by the Titans when he was the No. 3 overall pick would have an influence on Adams.

“He’s not called Bottom Line Bud for no reason,” the source said.

Adams, who still lives in Houston even after moving the Titans from there to Tennessee, played a strong role in the decision to draft Young, who is also from Houston and starred at the University of Texas.

One potential road block in Young’s return to the starting lineup is that he might have left a bad impression on Fisher and numerous teammates last season. He refused to go back in the season opener at home against Jacksonville after being booed by Titans fans following two interceptions and overthrowing several open receivers. Several players said Young lost a lot of respect for not being mentally tougher. The day after that game, police were called to check on Young when some of his friends feared he was going to harm himself. Young maintained that the incident was overblown.

Early in training camp this year, Young raised eyebrows when he declared in an interview that he would one day be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and would be the next black quarterback to win a Super Bowl.
lol at the bold. at me for just hearing about that. Reminds me of a few years ago when Vick said he wouldn't cut his hair until he won a superbowl.

Yeah, I was thinking the samething yesterday. The team is 0-4, so it may be time to give Young one last chance to do something without any pressure. If he fails than at least they know what they have to do in the draft.

Young wasn't much of a passer in college, but that title over USC and his athleticism propelled him to the top of the heap in the draft.

I still think they should have gone with Leinart or Cutler. He would have been a better fit with what they were trying to do. Chow was handcuffed with what Young couldn't do in the passing game, and the team's future is delayed because of it.

Not that I'm complaining, of course...I'm more than happy to watch Tennessee collapse.

"From the time he hits the court, he plays at a competitive level that you rarely see," Popovich says. "He does the exact same things that Kobe (Bryant) does, that Michael Jordan did.

I can see the titans going 0-8 easily, it looks a 3 win season on paper. tough schedule + terrible defense is going to make for a long year of Sundays for me.

I heard Fisher wouldn't implement the offense Norm wanted, and that Norm liked Vince. No idea how true it is though

Norm sulked for a whole season that Leinart wasnt here. He wasnt a pro Vince guy IMO.

I'd heard that too, actually...I think Fisher didn't think Young could get it done, and wanted to limit what he was asked to do.

See, this is what I don't get about head coaches. You have an offensive coordinator, let him do his job. Too many egos in the league...let people do their jobs. Head coaches should have a say in the end on who plays, and manage the overall feeling of the team, but let the offensive coach create the offense.

I dont even know why the titans have coordinators, they have played the same basic style of football for the last 10 years with multiple different O and D coordinators, its Fisher ball all the time.

I say he gets his shot Week 9 @ San Fran. At that point if my prediction is right and they are 0-7 and lose after a bye week, then they have no other choice but to atleast give Vince a shot and try to turn them around.
