    Jackson to Cavaliers?

    from insider:

Marcus Thompson II of the Contra Costa Times has heard a rumor that the Golden State Warriors have talked with the Cleveland Cavaliers about acquiring center Zydrunas Ilgauskas for swingman Stephen Jackson and another player to make it work under salary cap rules. Jackson has previously stated he'd like to get out of Golden State.

Thompson writes: "This seems like a move the Warriors would love to make, which leads me to believe Cleveland either isn't that interested in Jackson (they did sign Anthony Parker and they have Delonte West at shooting guard already) or they want more in exchange for Ilgauskas' $11.5 million expiring contract."

Jackson has four years and $35.4 million left on his contract.

    1984 Record: 44-38 (9th in west)
    1985 Record: 42-40 (7th in west; 1st round exit)
1986 Record: 51-31 (3rd in west; swept in finals)

The Grizzlies theme this season should be : "This Season, We're Doing It For The Lulz"

Z's on his way out the door. He's already told people he's retiring after this year..

Hes definitely not worthless hes one of only 2 Centers in the league that can knock down 18 footers all day.

            PG: Mo Williams
            SG: Stephen Jackson
            SF: The King
            PF: Overpaid Brazillian Shit
            C: Shaq

Most likely the starting lineup i think, but if i was a cavs fan i would love to see Lebron at the 4, S-Jax at the 3 and West at the 2. That would be a scary lineup imo.

I wouldn't count on this going down. I really don't see the Cavs giving up Big Z considering his history with the team. It would be a huge slap in the face to him considering how loyal he has been to the organization. I'm sure he wants to retire a Cav.

His loyalty should be rewarded. Especially with how Boozer bolted.

fuck that...this is a business, this is about championships and big money

The cavs stand to lose out on both if Bron Bron Leaves this summer, if LeBron feels that Big shot Jack gives them a better shot at a ring, then Big Z should vanish like he were a Cleveland Wideout.

I knew that argument would come back.

Regardless, I wouldn't count on this particular deal happening. I'm not saying there is no chance he doesn't end up a cav, I'm just saying I don't see the Cavs (Danny Ferry) sending Big Z to the Golden State just to play out the year and retire. I know it's a business but even with that being said, there is a sense of loyalty between some players and their gm's.

At the very least, he makes sure they buyout his contract so he can come back. Kinda like what the Nugs did with Mcdyess in the Billups/AI deal.

the difference was that at the time we WANTED McFaggot, but no, Detroit was gonna be his meal ticket to the Finals, how'd that work out?

anyone with half a brain could've told you AI heading to Detroit was basically throwing away any chance at serious contention for a championship

I remember freaking out when I heard about the trade ranting about how much better Denver becomes with Billups, etc etc

yea i remember you and Lupe spammed up my chise after the real life trade, lol

it sucked thought when i heard about the trade, i was getting prepped for surgery, i had no internet access, couldnt talk to anyone but Denver doctors who dont know who the Nuggets are

anyway, i guess Jackson could be good for the Cavs, get rid of West and his off the court problems

This would be a bad deal for Cleveland for a lot of reason already mentioned. I think they definitely need to hold onto Big Z to even out Shaq's weak points.

Steve Jackson is a head case though.. we're 20 posts in and no one has mentioned that??

West might be a problem right now, but Jackson has a history of being a player that can hurt you more than he can help you.
