In my fantasy league with friends I just picked him about 5 hours before this was announced. FML.

        Coming soon...

Dude is already behind the power curve for A.) Being injured (He needs those legs to rebound, and do all the other fancy shit) and B.) He's playing for the Clippers. Can he redeem himself playing 3/4ths of the season? Yes. Will he? No.

I've called Blake a bust since before he was drafted. When everybody was dick riding him as the best basketball player out of college last year. I see NOTHING special in this kid. Until he proves me wrong he's going to be a bust, in my book.
You see nothing special in Karl Malone light?

You will be mightily disappointed.. Blake is the real deal.

Makes zero sense to call someone a bust before they are even drafted .. lol. You have no idea how his NBA career will turn out.

For the record I think his career will not be what it would if he went anywhere other than the Clippers .. but saying 'until he proves me wrong he's a bust' is absurd when he hasn't had the chance yet.

He's definitely a tweener of Malone and Stoudamire.

He doesn't have quite the shooting touch of Malone or quite the explosiveness of Stoudamire, but somewhere in between.

I think he'll carve out a pretty solid NBA career when it's all done.

Blake Griffin has DONE NOTHING to warrant being called a bust. I bet you'll be the guy who will create these high expectations and when Griffin fails to meet them you'll say he's a bust. You sound like you want Griffin to fail, so that your opinion will be validated. The term "bust" is thrown around too much these days.

Now, I'm not sure he'll be this great, great player, but he will be a good player who will rebound, play defense and make some spectacular dunks. I don't see him failing or becoming a bust in the NBA, because he brings intangibles that many players don't have coming out.

That sounds a lot better than comparisons to one of the best 4's of all time.

I don't take the comparison as he'll be as good as Malone, but if anyone remembers watching Malone in his early years he was a high flying energy guy who rebounded, which is basically what Griffin is. Now, I don't see him ever being anywhere near the scorer Malone was, but that isn't really saying much.

Griffin's biggest problem is that he has no clear defined offensive skill that sets him a part, but he does have energy, enough skills and most importantly a work ethic to to be successful.

Exactly. No clear defined offensive skill set. Granted he could develop one but are the Clips going to take the time, or have the patience to let Blake grow? Then you bring up energy. Energy players ride pine.

Not when they have the athletic ability Griffin has. Amare Stoudemire has made quite the career doing exactly what Blake can and will do in the NBA.

"From the time he hits the court, he plays at a competitive level that you rarely see," Popovich says. "He does the exact same things that Kobe (Bryant) does, that Michael Jordan did.

Clippers win 30-35ish games this year IMO.
