    What's so great.....?

    about the NBA?

just wondering, to me it seems bland, as if there's no energy in the atmosphere

ill take college basketball over nba any day of the week

just thought i should ask this question here, because it seems there is a large fan base. can someone explain to me the draw of the nba?

I dont mind the NBA, but it is pretty far down on my lists of favorite sports. Probably 7th.

Watching the greatest players and athletes in the sport battling against each other?

That may have a thing or two to do with it.

the constant "wow" plays and the fluctuating scoring. always something happening.

You're not going to automatically start liking the NBA at the start of a season. Most people start liking it the second half of the season when the games really start to count. I like College Bball better, but the NBA does provide great entertainment too.

I just dont get how you can enjoy a boring game of slow baseball, and not enjoy an extremely fast paste game of basketball

                1984 Record: 44-38 (9th in west)
                1985 Record: 42-40 (7th in west; 1st round exit)
1986 Record: 51-31 (3rd in west; swept in finals)

The Grizzlies theme this season should be : "This Season, We're Doing It For The Lulz"

There's nothing like watching NBA basketball. It's my 2nd favorite pro sport right behind the NFL. I would rather watch a NBA game any day of the week over a college basketball game.

I was a teen-ager growing up in the 80's watching the all the classic Laker-Celtic Finals. Those games, bar none are the best games i've every watched in any sport, including college and pro. I'm lucky because of my age, I have seen some of the greatest NBA players to ever play the game.

Everyone from Dr. J, Magic, Bird, Kareem, Isiah, Barkley, to MJ, Shaq, Kobe and LBJ.

Heck, I remember rushing home after my high school graduation in 1986 to watch the Celtics-Rockets in the NBA Finals. I'm watching the Lakers-Clippers game as I post this. It's great to see the NBA season starting once again.

That's what it basically boils down to for me.

I won't argue that college is a more exciting game of basketball. It is. More crowd energy, faster paced...

To me though NBA is the mecca. While it doesn't have the excitement of a college game, it has (in my opinion) the greatest athletes in the world battling it out on a nightly basis. It's a higher level of basketball being played if you actually break it down and look at the defenses, or the out of bounds plays, etc. To me, I don't need kids with their face painted bouncing up and down to give me a decent game of basketball. I need great athletes and the best players in the world competing at the highest level of their sport.

                        NBA

Great way to get the season started last night with Celts/Cavs and a closer than should have been game between LAC/LAL. POR/HOU was a good game to watch too.

It wasn't even fair. He had Scola on him that has the lateral movement of Oprah. Jab step jumpers all night long.

Yeah, it looked like last year's ECF where Ben Wallace and Anderson Varejao were chasing Rashard Lewis and Hedo all over the court.
