It's scary how much talent there is in the state next year. Hell, three of the top 60 juniors in the country play on the SAME DAMN TEAM (Milton). Julian Royal, Dai-Jon Parker, and Shannon Scott - and yet that team isn't even leading its region.

Plus, you've got Kentavious Caldwell out at Greene County, Jelan Kendrick (going to Memphis) at Wheeler, and some really talented kids down south. With some success, UGA will start getting those kids...I hope.

I hope Georgetown either does very well or very poorly for the rest of the season.

If they do well, Marquette's win in D.C. will greatly strengthen their resume vs. a top 10 RPI team in the country and pretty much guarantee them a spot in the tourney.

If Georgetown does poorly, Marquette has a very good chance to finish 4th in the Big East and get a double bye in the Big East tourney.

Always nice to see us bounce back after a tough conference loss. Still got tough road games against Pitt and Syracuse left, but I think Nova can get it done and get good momentum going into the BE tourney.

No it wasn't close 77-53. And it's just because it's a game between two city teams, and Mike Rice is a former Dixon assistant.

Kansas is also playing some of its best basketball of the year imo. Texas just can't quite figure it out, idk why...probably on Barnes.

Okay, just some quick thoughts about the Pitt/RMU game. If you wouldn't mind Pitty, I would like to hear what you thought about RMU.

- Obviously we were overmatched in this one, but the first half was a nice sign. Only being down six against a Big East power is pretty impressive. I said that the first five minutes in the second half would tell if RMU would compete the rest of the game or it Pitt would pull away like I predicted, and sure enough a six point deficit turned into an 18 point one.
- Very, very impressed with our freshmen. Karon Abraham was hitting in the first half and made some moves to the basket to get some "and one" shots. Velton Jones also played better than expected and Russell Johnson was a nice offensive spark as well. I love having the opportunity to watch these three grow and become possibly mid-major stars by their senior year.
- Our big men are horrible. Rob Robinson was again a non-factor and continues to disappoint not only me, but all of NEC followers. Dallas Green is never expected to contribute on offense and Brad Piehl took some bad shots when he came into the game. I don't expect them to get double-digit games scoring against a Pitt squad, but at least put up a better effort.

Overall, I saw some flaws and also saw some things I really liked. Time to regroup and get ready for Central Connecticut State on Thursday. You best be going to that game, kman.

Wisconsin beat Maryland!

And I'm not surprised. Big 10 IMO probably has the best top end depth of teams in any conference outside of the Big East. With the exception of Wisconsin (plays slow and methodical) all of those top end teams are fun as heck to watch as well. Great year for the conference and Evan Turner is the best player in the nation.

Kansas is the best team from both conferences. Texas has fallen off. K-State? Nah. Texas A&M? No. Missouri? Nope.

Come tournament time, I wouldn't taken any of those teams over MSU, Purdue, Ohio State, and Wisconsin that isn't named Kansas.
