Its too bad the media has made Paul seem like a god while giving no recognition to Deron at all. In reality it makes for a very compelling argument as far as who is the better player.

I have never downplayed DWill as a player. He is a really good PG but CP3 is better. Potatoes brings up the "head 2 head" team matchup records. Which favors DWill but he neglects to to point out that CP3 had the better stats in almost all of those games. I think there are 3 games where DWill has the better game.

Just because Chris Paul has to do more for his team to succeed than Deron, doesn't mean Chris Paul is better than Deron.
Steve Nash didn't HAVE to do a lot when he was at the top of his game. He still got his stats in. Like I said DWill is a damn good PG but CP does more. DWill is like a young Jason Kidd in my eyes. A bigger stronger type of PG. CP does it all which is why he is considered better. This post put all homerism aside. I'm seeing CP > DWill based on what he has done. You can't put someone on the best list cuz of potential or what you THINK they can do. You make a best player list on what they have done and are currently doing.

LOL, did you ever watch those Suns teams? Nash had talent around him, but the offense basically was Nash dribbling the ball all over the place while his teammates got open. Did you ever see them play when Nash was out? If I remember correctly they lost the majority of those games, because Nash did everything. So, yes Nash had talent around him, but the offense much like with Paul called for him to everything, hence the great stats.

Deron Williams is established as an elite PG, as most consider him to be top 2. There is no “what people think he can do,” as he’s done it and proven it. This is why there is a very lively debate of “Paul versus Williams” across many media outlets. In Williams we aren’t talking about Rose, Rondo or Jennings (ie guys who have potential to be great)….Deron Williams is a proven established star and elite PG in this league.

                  Paul - 26.1 PPG , 9.3 APG , 1.6 SPG , 2.2 T.O per game

                  Williams - 20.4 PPG , 9.9 APG , 0.9 SPG , 3.5 T.O per game

D-Will better step it up huh?

We need to keep this thread bumped for the stats

As a Knicks fan, I'd kill to have either of them on my team.

Keep it bumped then, you will see, Deron will prevail.

                            CP is 60% FG, amazing.
