I thought the deal with Carmelo was that he just had nothing left to accomplish. He won a National Championship, Player of the Year, etc. all his Freshman Year, so what was the point in staying?

But yeah, Wall's going next year. The intelligence and classes thing doesn't matter. Greg Oden wanted to be a dentist and majored in orthodontics (I believe) at OSU. Still went to the NBA after one year.

EDIT: Also, no one knows what kind of classes this kid is taking. He may be taking simple 101 courses and could be open options, so he could very be taking easy courses of interest in order to get through and leave Kentucky for the NBA after this season.
