Allen Iverson traded to Pistons for Billups

I just heard it on ESPN from that Smith guy. Iverson to the Pistons for Billups & Anthony McDyss. McDyss was included to make the numbers work. It isn't in the books right now but it's in the works and has been reported on ESPN so I am sure it's close to being done.

damn nuggets needed a true PG and now they got one.
"From the time he hits the court, he plays at a competitive level that you rarely see," Popovich says. "He does the exact same things that Kobe (Bryant) does, that Michael Jordan did.

The Nuggets. They lose Allen fuckng not a team player Iverson and gain a pass first PG and and F who will give his whole body for the team.

I think this will fuck up any of the team "chemistry" the Pistons had.

Yep not feeling this for the Pistons. Even if they run Stuckey & AI together you're playing 2 combo-guards. Any situation involving a starter now will have a combo guard playing the Point. Detroit is all about team basketball.. not to say AI isnt a good team player but hes not a real ball distributor. Very weird timing, too. If anything this should've been done in the off-season.

Good trade for the Nuggets tho.. it always hurts to lose AI but they got guy who can fill it up with ease. They'll really benefit from a guy who can move the rock and plays solid D. It'd help a lot to get McDyess too, as the Nugs are lacking big men, big ive read he doesnt want to move the Denver will be buying out his contract.

I'm kind of surprised everyone thinks the Nuggets got the better deal, I see it the other way.

Even with Billups, the Nuggets do not have the talent to contend this year, Billups is under contract for a few more years too, so if they're rebuilding like it seemed that they were than this wasn't a great move.

The Pistons though still have enough talent to compete for a title plus AI is expiring so they can begin to rebuild next season with a ton of cap (Sheed is expiring as well).

the playing styles don't mesh. billups is a half court PG that works with plays while the nuggets like to run, meanwhile AI is a shoot first get out on the dribble kind of PG while the pistons aren't. At least stuckey will be able to get more time in the future.
