BB blames the Texans Feild for Welker Injury

    Associated Press

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick said Tuesday that star wide receiver Wes Welker was hurt on a Houston field that was in terrible condition.

Welker, who led the NFL with 123 receptions this season, suffered a serious left knee injury during a 34-27 loss to the Texans on Sunday on what Belichick called "one of the worst fields I've seen."

The coach didn't elaborate Tuesday on remarks he made one day earlier during his weekly appearance on WEEI radio. Belichick said the field was inconsistent -- spongy in parts and hard in others -- causing players to get a different feel with each step.

Belichick said a lot of non-contact injuries such as Welker's occur on such surfaces.

Asked several times about the field Tuesday, Belichick said he is focusing on Sunday's AFC wild-card game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Belichick is a bitch, I remember him and the Patriots doing things to their field back in 03 or 04 to help slow down the Colts offenses. They were leaving tarp off the field and intentionally leaving the sprinklers on to long so the weather would play a bigger role. Then when the media asked him about it he says "I'm not a groundsman."

    Now apparently he is one.

And if you didn't play in a dome your team would do the same. Anything to get an advantage.

But would Jim Caldwell come out and complain about the Texan's field? Last year when Kelvin Hayden injured his hamstring on that field Dungy didn't say anything, or at least the media didn't make it a story.

Welker's injury is also the affect of him playing through knee injuries in past years and this year. That knee was bound to get injured.

ehhh, the field did seem kinda bad as the players on both teams seemed to be losing their footing. They asked him what he thought of the field and he just said he thought it was terrible.

If he thought the field was in such horrible shape shouldn't he have considered resting his star players?

I don't, fuck that little backstabbing, non-grateful, whiny cunt. I LOL'd when I saw him literally crying on the sideline with his whooby over his head. He's not the first person to suffer that injury, it sucks and isn't fair, but shit happens and you deal.

Dude was given his first chance by Miami, he was loved by the fans, then given a chance to go to NE without the restricted free agent poison pill contract that was offered. His payment in return was to talk shit about the city and disrespect Miami's organization and people (and not in the AFC East rivalry type way). Would he still have that attitude if we shipped his ass to Detroit?

I think just about every Dolphin fan knows what I am talking about. We aren't bitter over losing him, we got something in return instead of straight out losing him, but his disrespect to us who really liked the guy is unforgiving.
