USF "top choices" to replace Leavitt...

...USF has hired Chuck Neinas to conduct a search to find suitable candidates to replace Jim Leavitt. Neinas has previously been retained by UF, LSU, Texas and Oklahoma along with other schools to assess the program's needs and find suitable coaches to move programs forward. Neinas recommended Urban Meyer to UF, Bob Stoops to Oklahoma, Mack Brown to Texas and Les Miles to LSU.

Neinas has begun the search and two names that top Neinas' list are:

    - Georgia's Mark Richt
    - Southern Mississippi's Larry Fedora

BTW, Leavitt is giving a press conference right now from his attorney's office in Palm Harbor. Leavitt is demanding his job back.

I don't think they want Fulmer. However, Fulmer did take it upon himself to contact AD Doug Woolard.

Holtz should be #1 and would probably destroy most of the Big East if he was at USF. He should have gotten a bigger job than ECU a long time ago.

Houtz is an excellent hire. I would be surprised if he wasn't even considered by USF.

Apparently, the St. Pete Times is reporting that Skip Holtz is now the "front-runner" for the job.

I'm telling you guys, this is a GREAT job for the right coach. Leavitt was a great recruiter and was able to snag some recruits from the likes of UF, FSU and UM. As a coach you are sitting on a gold mine of a recruiting area in the state and the Tampa area alone is filled with talent. The only problem Leavitt had was that the teams seemed to fall flat come mid-season...he never seemed to be able to mold all the talent at USF into a serious contender.

I honestly think that the next coach will take this program to new heights.
