    Celts, Bobcats in trade talk

    per true hoop (espn)

Big Baby for DJ Augustin, plus some fillers to make the numbers add up.

Thoughts? All I can say is, it's a shame Sean May isn't still in Carolina so Baby and May could finally settle the "Lowest vertical to height ratio" debate.

I'd hate this. Augustin was a spark plug last season when they were making a run. I don't know why Brown is pissed at him this season. Not a fan of Baby, no idea why Brown would. He had issues with May's weight, how is Baby any different?

Please dont compare May to Baby. Baby is a legit role player...Sean May is a fuckin scrub.

With that said, this wouldnt be a bad move for Boston, but it wouldnt be a good one....their frontcourt is already old and short-stocked as it is....

The Bobcats almost traded for Baby Shaq himself last season so I don't think they have too much of a problem with the fatties.

I thought I had heard for the deal to work, Perkins would need to be included.

          Is this true?

Dabotownsox, does it logically make sense to add Perkins to make cap work? Perkins is the future for Boston down low, no matter how you look at it. Sheed is pretty bad outside of the occasional 1-2 minute spurt of effort and KG just isn't right. Who else is going to bang down low when we need bodies? Trading Perk is laughable at this point.

I like this deal because Augustin is capable of handling the ball while also scoring, he's a bit undersized but that won't matter too much. This deal would be so much easier to stomach had we not given Leon Powe the shaft

                link?

Ainge adamantly denied the Ray Allen rumors, but i'm pretty sure the Baby for Augustin rumors were legit. If they are rumors, it makes perfect sense and maybe Danny should stop denying and get to it.

Celtics would destroy this season and seasons to come by trading Perk. He and Rondo are the only ones doing anything right now!

I don't like that at all. I would rather keep Allen than pick up Tyrus/Hinrich, that seems more like a deal just to make a deal than a deal that will benefit the team.

Kirk Hinrich is like 29 years old.

Still younger than Ray Allen, who is like 45.

Feel free to skim right by that guys posts unless you're looking for a lul hear or there.

I think the Cats are far too quick to pull the trigger on Augustin.. who I still has the ability to be a starter in this league, if not continue to be an admirable back-up for Felton who can also play a little off-guard. They do lack size, tho, and Big Baby would help add that. The thing, to me, tho is Augistin trumps Davis in the talent department, and had Big Baby not gone on that mini-run in the playoffs, he'd still be considered a borderline back of the bench guy. I like his energy, but for a player to be making the kind of dumb mistakes he does off the court, you have to be a lot more proven, or atleast more talented. Celtics would win big in this deal, they've been in need of an actual back-up PG for a long time.
