He's not good enough to command more money then he's making. If he had, I'm not entirely sure the lakers would have kept him. Look at Ariza, who wanted more money. Him being a star would NOT change his draft value, would NOT change his playing time, and would NOT change his status as an ON-COURT player. But it would make him a world wide star, and his popularity would be improved drastically. This includes jersey sales, website hits, etc, etc. What are you not understanding?
