Agreed. This won't really effect either team this year. Hopefully down the road Morrison turns into a quality bench player, maybe a 6th man who can come off bench and add a big spark. Wishful thinking though, he hasn't shown me enough for me to say it will happen.

Would most teams start Luke Walton or Vlad Rad over Ariza or LO? No. Phil wants a guy who can stretch the floor.

What? Lamar Odom would start on 95% of teams, if not more. Vlad Rad was a shooting specialist from deep, and a much better shooter than Adam Morrison at that. Ariza is a great defender and brings tons of energy, hes better suited to come off the bench, but he'd start on some teams. Phil only starts Luke cause of his passing skills. All of these players are > Morrison.

I heard 2 reasons for this deal:

1) Lakers wanted to dump Vlad's contract.
2) This will set up a trade involving Morrison and Lamar Odom to Phoenix for Shaq.

That could be a possibility. If the Suns trade Shaq and get Odom (expiring), then they trade Amare to the Bulls and get Gooden (expiring), Nash will be gone in free agency, and that leaves the Suns re-builiding.

lolz is this sarcasm? Both players were mid-level bench performers on a below average team.

Your Bobcats season tickets were a waste from the time you got the receipt for 'em. (coming from someone who goes to 30+ Grizz games a year.)

And Vlad Rad is better right now than Morrison ever will be. Adam was a college player (same thing as a college football player, he fits the game style of college ball), who became a bust in the NBA before and after he got injured. If he does score, which is the only thing he can do, he's horribly inefficient. When Vlad scores, which is the only thing he can do, he does it at a high clip.

The Lakers will hardly use Morrison at all, this was almost a complete 100% salary dump.

Brown will probably get more PT than Morrison if either of them play at all

Interesting trade, I don't know about the Phoenix/L.A. trade that was posted. This was a CAP trade to dump some unneeded players and their salaries elsewhere. Unless Morrison/Brown learn to shoot their done. I had hope for Brown when he came to Cleveland, he never panned out. Thank god for Boobie.
